Only a select group of luthiers today will produce one-of-a-kind guitars upon request. My customizations can range from the simple to the sublime. As a one-man shop prioritizing quality over quantity, each guitar is individually designed, assembled, and voiced to bring out the tonality and responsiveness desired by professional musicians, discerning collectors, and true enthusiasts all over the world.

Custom options below can be applied to any Buendia Guitars model.

HEADSTOCK

My standard headstock design follows the proportions, symmetry, and smooth curves of the guitar’s body shape.

TUNING MACHINES

I offer precision handmade tuning machines as a custom feature. These tuners are custom built to order and you can choose from many options in engraved designs, materials, and button shapes.

NECK OPTIONS

Carbon-reinforced, you can choose the width, shape, and string spacing.

BACK OF THE NECK INLAY

An elegant custom design inlay creates visual unity with the other guitar accents.

FINGERBOARD CUSTOM INLAY

Countless possibilities exist for highlighting the fretboard with custom inlays. My fretboard markers emphasize positions 3 to 19 and they can be customized to fit your needs.

CUTAWAY (FLORENTINE)

This feature allows easier access to the upper registers and is thoughtfully designed to present a seamless transition from the heel to the deepest point of reach.

ROSETTE

Rosette options are nearly endless; they range from a delicate purfled wooden ring to segmented or hand-carved.

DECORATIVE BACKSTRIP

Add this option to any of my guitars for the ultimate tastefulness.

LAMINATED BONE NUT & SADDLE

This decorative customization enhances the appearance of the nut and saddle of the guitar.

CUSTOM END GRAFT

Designed with an appreciation for simplicity, subtle ornamental touches echo and support the visual aspects of the other accents on the guitar.

MANZER STYLE TAPERED BODY

Named after the creator Linda Manzer, this feature enables rotation of the guitar’s surface toward the guitarist, reducing the potential for neck strain. Additionally, the thinner bass side brings the arm closer to the body, alleviating strain on the shoulder joint.

MULTISCALE FINGERBOARD (NOVAX FAN FRET)

Fanned fret guitars have increased string tension for low tunings while maintaining the comfort of the higher strings. The angle of the frets offers certain ergonomic benefits.

12-STRING

This big Jumbo delivers a powerful and massively rich 12-string sound while preserving the renowned Buendia playability.

CUSTOM HOFFEE CASE

Included with all my guitars is a custom-fitted carbon fiber hardshell Hoffee case. Choose exterior and interior colors and if desired upgrade with Thinsulate brand insulation, high quality padded carrying straps, twist latches, etc.
